Casa Polo Maitencillo

The black wood exostructure defines everything: a system of diagonals and crosses that wraps the exterior as a visible skeleton, resolving the structure and generating the project's character simultaneously. It is not cladding — it is the building itself expressed from the outside. The upper volume cantilevers over the lower one, supported by this same structure, leaving the covered access beneath the overhang. The concrete core anchors the composition and absorbs the forces that the wood distributes across the façade. Inside, the contrast is complete. Where the outside is all black and tense, inside the light wood and glass create a warm and continuous space that opens seamlessly to the garden and surroundings.
